George Anderson’s main career was in the federal government, where his last appointments were as Deputy Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs and then Natural Resources Canada.

He was President and CEO of the Forum of Federations for six years and a member of the UN’s stand-by team of experts on post-conflict mediation.  He has worked in over 20 countries.  Author of Federalism: An Introduction and Fiscal Federalism: A Comparative Introduction, both widely translated.

He edited or co-edited four books on federalism, including Territory and Power in Constitutional Transitions with Sujit Choudhry (OUP 2019).
