André Lecours is a Full Professor in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa, where he holds the Forum of Federations and University of Ottawa Research Chair on Comparative Federalism. He is also a former President of the Canadian Political Science Association and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. A specialist in comparative politics, his research focuses on nationalism and on federalism.

He has worked on and published on many different case studies, including Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, the United States, Australia, and Nepal. He is deeply engaged in global political science from both a substantive and a collaborative point of view.
