David Cameron is a Distinguished Fellow of the Forum of Federations, Former Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a Member of the Order of Canada. Internationally, as an expert in federalism and nationalism he has served as a constitutional advisor in transition processes in South Africa, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Iraq, and Nepal.

David has held several senior positions in Ontario including as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Deputy Minister and Special Advisor to the Premier on Constitutional Reform, and Special Constitutional Advisor to the Premier of Ontario. David also served as the Director of the Pepin-Robarts Task Force on Canadian Unity.
